HOLDUP in the HOOD
The photographs in "Holdup in the Hood" document a collaborative, after-school arts curriculum rooted in self-portraiture. The project took place in Manchester, Pittsburgh, PA. The complete body of work incorporates drawings, recycled photographs, print media and body gesture while exploring dimensions of self and "other", including race, class and gender. The curriculum and documentation evolved over a 13 year period.

''Excerpts from the Palace of Anxiety”
This project is a re-mediation of memory, family and place. These photo diptychs are a blending of archival, analog, family photographs, many taken by my father’s hand, while the other half of each image is by my own hand. The project also involves text & video.
